When Liam Payne took to the stage at the Commonwealth Day service , he was probably hoping his acoustic song would inspire and impress.
But unfortunately that didn’t really go to plan and two of the most important guests – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – didn’t seem to like it much.
In fact, Harry was caught raising his eyebrows at the former One Direction star’s cover of John Mayer’s Waiting for the World to Change and his fiance got the giggles.

But his girlfriend and mother of his child Cheryl has jumped to his defence, showing on social media how much she loved the performance.
Liam shared a video of his song on his official Instagram account and Cheryl liked the post.
She also commented with the praising hands emoji.

Yesterday’s service, which celebrates the 53 countries in the Commonwealth, was Meghan’s first official engagement.
The Queen, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prime Minister Theresa May were also at Westminster Abbey for the occassion.
The only person missing was the Duke of Edinburgh, who has now retired from public duties.

Meghan wore a white Amanda Wakeley coat with a matching hat by milliner Stephen Jones and a navy dress.
Her future sister-in-law Kate Middleton also wore navy, opting for a Beulah London coat.
