Arsenal are facing important decisions on a number of players as the January transfer window kicks into gear.

The Gunners landed their first new signing last week, purchasing centre-back Omar Rekik from Hertha Berlin for £500,000.

The Tunisian has linked up with his Under-23 teammates, while Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has begun trimming his squad by sending out Sead Kolasinac and William Saliba on loan.

Much of Arteta's attention has now turned to the next move of Mesut Ozil, but there is plenty of other business going on at the Emirates Stadium.

Yesterday's round up revealed that Arsenal are firmly in the race for RB Salzburg star Patson Daka, but the prolific Zambia international is not the only player on Arteta's radar.

Here is Tuesday's Arsenal transfer round-up.

Rob Holding to sign new contract

Arsenal are understood to have handed Rob Holding a new long-term contract which will keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

Holding’s current deal was due to expire in 2023, but the Gunners do not want to risk losing him after a run of impressive performances in recent weeks.

The Athletic report that Holding is seen as one of the leaders at the club, and is looking favourably upon by Arteta and technical director Edu.

The 25-year-old was reportedly close to joining Newcastle on loan in the summer, but is now a regular at centre-back alongside Gabriel.

Napoli target Kieran Tierney

Napoli are still said to be keen on left-back Kieran Tierney, despite missing out on signing him at the start of last season.

The Serie A side are long-term admirers of the Scotland international, and have still not given up hope of landing the 23-year-old.

That is according to the Telegraph, who claim that Napoli are looking to sign Chelsea outcast Emerson Palmieri on a six-month loan before they launch an attack in the summer.

Tierney has gone from strength to strength in north London, and will no doubt be worth much more than the £25million Arsenal signed the full-back for from Celtic 18 months ago.

Brighton star eyed for move

Arsenal are reportedly eager to sign Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma

Arsenal are believed to be eyeing a move for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma.

According to Football London, Bissouma is a top target for a number of clubs, with Liverpool and the Gunners previously linked.

But the Seagulls star is keen on a switch to the Emirates Stadium it is claimed, and is desperate to progress in the Premier League due to his love for the English top flight.

Bissouma is also still close with current Arsenal pair Nicolas Pepe and Gabriel, with whom he played for Lille with.

It seems unlikely that the Gunners will make a move for Bissouma this month though, due to their current financial situation, which means a summer swoop is a possibility.
