Kym Marsh has slammed the hoards of social media influencers that have jetted out to luxury destinations like Dubai amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The 44-year-old former Coronation Street star said she was concerned that jetsetters are hardly practicing social distancing on their sunny holidays and risk bringing Covid-19 back into the UK.
Writing for her OK! column, Kym suggested that the borders should simply be closed and no-one should be allowed to travel.
Her remarks come shortly after Scotland removed Dubai from their quarantine exemption list – sparking rumours that England might soon follow suite.
“Lots of influencers seem to be going abroad," Kym wrote in her column.
"If you’ve got to travel for work then fair enough, but I personally would be putting off that trip and staying at home.

She added: “From what I can see from the pictures of people in Dubai, every man and his dog is there and it doesn’t look particularly socially distanced!"
“It looked like lockdown and coronavirus wasn’t happening and I can see it would be easy to forget about social distancing.
The mum of four went on to suggest that no-one should be travelling while the country faces a national lockdown.

“You could pick it up and then bring it back. I think we should just shut the borders and none of us travel anywhere.”
Kym also explained that she was even given the chance to leave the UK before Christmas, but chose not to because she didn't think it was a good idea.
She continued: “I had an opportunity to go away before Christmas but I didn’t want to do it, it’s too scary. Why are we risking going away somewhere?”
Kym's remarks come as a host of well known social media influencers flaunt their sun-filled pictures on Instagram while enjoying their sunny getaways.

Stars from Vogue Williams to Chloe Ferry defend ditching UK lockdown for trips abroad
Figures such as Chloe Ferry and Love Island stars like Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have all enjoyed a lavish getaway while coronavirus cases continue to rise across the UK.
Some of the stars have recently faced a barrage of online abuse as fans criticise their luxury getaways – some of which have been defended as 'work trips'.
However, in recent days the UK government has taken steps in attempt to stop Covid-19 cases coming into the country.
Accoring to recent announcements, travellers entering the UK will now need to provide a negative COVID-19 test that has been obtained within 72 hours.
