Inter Milan want Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United – but only if they can off-load flop buy Christian Eriksen.
It's believed Inter boss Antonio Conte is an admirer of Lingard who's career has hit the buffers at Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old former England star will be allowed to leave United after playing only two Carabao Cup games this season.
Conte is keen to give his title chasing stars a January boost as they battle with rivals AC Milan at the top of Serie A.
And the ex-Chelsea boss has identified Lingard as a player who could do a job after being given good reports by current Inter stars Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Young who both joined the Italian's from United.
But Conte won't be allowed to make more additions this month unless he can ship out Danish play-maker Eriksen on loan.

Eriksen, a major star for Tottenham, has failed to make an impact at Inter since his £17m move from White Hart Lane a year ago.
Inter's Chief Executive Giuseppe Marotta recently claimed the Serie A side would allow Eriksen to leave.
“He's had a few issues to adjusting to life at Inter and he's not functional to the team. But that takes nothing away from his professionalism.
“It's only right to give him a chance to seek more games elsewhere. Obviously we need to find a solution.”
West Ham have been linked with a loan bid for Eriksen while it's understood Hammers boss David Moyes has also considered a move for Lingard too.
Ajax and Wolves are also said be interested in Eriksen but the Dane is embroiled in a wrangle with Inter over missing fees to his agent Martinus Schoots.
It's believed Schoots was given a mandate to negotiate Eriksen's release from Spurs but has so far been paid only £900,000 of the agreed £6.3million fee by Inter.
Schoots has filed an arbitration request with an Italian Sports Court for the rest of his commission – and that is holding up Eriksen moving this month.
