Little Mix fans will be thrilled to hear the ladies are heading back to the studio to make new music – following the shock departure of Jesy Nelson.

The original quartet are now a trio after 29-year-old Jesy quit the group at the end of last year for reasons relating to her mental health.

While the departure of a founding member can be considered fatal for many a band, remaining members Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall have confirmed more music is afoot for the group.

The girls are currently riding on a high as their single Sweet Melody topped the charts on Friday – making it their first number one tune since 2016.

It is unclear so far if the tour will be impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

At present the UK is in lockdown until mid February at the very earliest due to spiralling cases, hospitalisations and deaths.

However, plans to vaccinate 200,000 per day and 2 million per week in the UK are afoot with hopes lockdowns will finally end come spring.
