Strictly star Ranvir Singh says rumours she is dating dance partner Giovanni Pernice have done “good things” for her reputation but are sadly untrue.
And as she collected the Ally Award at last night’s ceremony, Giovanni’s former dance partner Michelle Visage confirmed there was no romance between the pair – just great showmanship.
Michelle, who was on Strictly last year, said: “I talk to him nearly every day, it’s definitely for telly.”
Speaking after judge Shirley Ballas commended the pair’s “passion”, Michelle added: “They look great together, but they are definitely just friends.
“You have to sell a dance when you’re out there and these professional dancers are the best actors on the planet.”

Rosie Jones gushes over Gillian Anderson
Comedy Award winner Rosie Jones got to write sexy scripts for her “hero” Gillian Anderson on Netflix series Sex Education – so she was torn watching the actress play Margaret Thatcher in The Crown.
“As a gay lady, Gillian is my god,” gushes Rosie. “I’m finding it a bit tricky for Margaret Thatcher to have the face of a sexy god. I’m working through it, but I’m not against it.”
Rosie was widely praised for a powerful speech to Health Secretary Matt Hancock about the disability act on Question Time.

Tom Allen steps in for GBBO filming
Comic Tom Allen has stepped in to host the festive special of The Great British Bake Off, which was filmed while Noel Fielding was on paternity leave.
But fear not, Extra Slice host Tom bonded immediately with co-host Matt Lucas, both being bald.
Tom says: “We can get sunburnt very easily, so it’s good to exchange tips. Also, I have quite a shiny head so we can talk about that as well – mattifying, it’s a hot topic. It was lovely to work with Matt, they made me feel very welcome in the tent.”
