Strictly Come Dancing star HRVY says he was read the riot act by BBC bosses for failing to socially distance.

The singer admitted he got a good telling off for getting too close to some of the pro dancers recently.

He said he got pulled up by the execs when he was moving around the studios.

Strictly are super-tight on safety measures, knowing one wrong move could see the series thrown into complete chaos.

HRVY – who tested positive for Covid two weeks before the show – explained that he hasn't been perfect during the first four weeks of the programme.

Pictures of him with Maisie Smith on November 13 appeared to show the pair right next to each other not wearing masks – definitely not two metres away, as is required by Covid guidelines.

“It was me and a couple of other pros going from one studio to the next studio outside," he told PA news agency.

"Obviously we try our best to socially distance when we are walking around the studios and outside, but obviously when you are walking and talking you don’t even realise.

“But no one touched each other. I just think we were maybe slightly closer than two metres while we were talking. But also the cameras, when you get a picture taken of you it can make you look a lot closer than you actually are."
