Dr Hilary Jones has questioned the "weak nation" for having a five-day break during Christmas amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid had been interviewing the First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford MS, who was encouraging caution amid the new Covid-19 restrictions.
There are currently plans for Christmas bubbles to allow families to reunite over the festive period.
Three households will be able to mix in a bubble from the 23rd until the 27th December.

Interjecting after the interview, Dr Hilary compared controlling the virus to controlling your weight.
"It's easy to put weight on, it's very difficult to lose it," Dr Hilary said. "It's very easy for the transmission of the virus to increase, it's very slow to get those numbers down again.
"By having this five-day holiday at Christmas and three households – which could be a large number of people gathering in a place with very little ventilation or hugging each other – it's going to undo so much of the good work that have been done.
"I think the majority of our viewers are together with this – they're saying, 'Let's not sacrifice the good work'."
He went on to point out some headlines, which referenced bubbles being part of a 'UK deal' for families.
"We're talking about a deal – it's not a deal!" Dr Hilary raged. "Are we such a weak nation that we can't wait a few more weeks so that we can actually control this virus.
"We've still got very high numbers. Wait for the vaccine and get on with our lives next year."
