Inter Milan are keen to offload Christian Eriksen in a swap deal with Arsenal or Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to a report from Italy.

Eriksen moved from Tottenham to Inter at the start of the year for £16.9million but has struggled to adapt to life with the Serie A giants.

The 28-year-old has scored four goals in 33 games and has started just four matches this season under manager Antonio Conte.

Inter have many options in central and attacking midfield including Arturo Vidal, Marcelo Brozovic, Radja Nainggolan and Ivan Perisic – meaning Eriksen is seen as surplus to requirements at San Siro.

However, they may struggle to prise Fred from Old Trafford as the Brazilian has taken on an increasingly-important role in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this season.

He has started United's last five Premier League matches and has made a total of 11 appearances in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Arsenal may be wary of taking on former Spurs star Eriksen in place of Xhaka, as the 28-year-old is an important figure at the Emirates.

As such, Eriksen returning to the Premier League seems unlikely at this stage and he may instead move to Paris Saint-Germain, who have been credited with interest in the former Ajax man.

If Eriksen were to arrive in the French capital, Argentina international Leandro Paredes would likely be the man moving the other way.

But Inter and PSG are some way off agreeing to a deal and, as it stands, Eriksen's future continues to hang in the balance.
