Eamonn Holmes took aim at I'm A Celebrity 's Jordan North as he made his first TV appearance since being axed from This Morning.

ITV recently announced that the presenter and his wife Ruth Langsford were being replaced in the show's Friday slot by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

While they'll still step in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during the summer holidays, their regular slot will be taken away.

Ruth has been on Loose Women since the news broke, but Eamonn returned to TV for the first time today, appearing on I'm A Celebrity… The Daily Drop.

Chatting to host Vick Hope and fellow panelists Ferne McCann and Babatunde Aleshe, Eamonn accused BBC Radio 1 DJ Jordan North of faking his fears.

The first episode of the reality show saw Jordan throw up on the side of a cliff after finding out he'd have to abseil down it.

Since then, he's been chosen by viewers to take on almost every trial, but he's done surprisingly well under pressure despite sayding he had never been so scared in his entire life.

When asked for his thoughts on Jordan's performance in last night's underground and bug-filled trial Trapped Door, Eamonn said: "There's just no escape and yet, head down, he got on with it.

"I don't know, I think I would be scarred, I'd have some sort of disorder coming out of that nightmare."

He added: "Either that or he's bluffing us all along. I mean, he gets full stars."

A shocked Ferne asked if he was saying it was "all an act".

Eamonn explained: "No, I'm saying if you had that sort of inquisitive mind, you could look and say, 'Well how come one moment he goes from being literally physically sick'."

Comedian Babatunde agreed: "I'm with you, because I would have been screaming."

Vick suggested Jordan was "facing his fears" and "conquering them".

Ferne, who took part in the show in 2015, says she faced many trials but didn't get over her fears.

She said: "Talking from experience when I did the trials, and trust me, I did a lot of them, I never overcome any fears and it's still horrendous.

"I still hate spiders, snakes. So I get the whole journey but for me doing a trial and another one and another one, it never got easier, so I kind of know what you're saying there, Eamonn.

"But I don't know because I think it is genuine fear because he's shaking and taking himself to his happy place."

Eamonn and Ruth, both 60, are said to be "furious and upset" about their This Morning axe.

Under the shake up, Eamonn and Ruth won't host the show on Fridays any more, but they will still host it for six weeks in the summer while Phil and Holly take their break.

An insider said: "ITV has been open about wanting to diversify and make the show 'less white' but they haven’t tried to find anything else for them.

"Ruth will remain on Loose Women and they will do school holidays. But Eamonn hasn’t been offered a role anywhere else on the channel, which is a real shame for him."
