Iain Stirling took part in ITV's Loose Men which airs today in honour of International Men's Day.
He joined Ronan Keating, Marvin Humes and Roman Kemp for the special show for Loose Women’s ongoing ‘Stand By Your Men’ strand, part of their award-winning Lighten The Load campaign.
The conversations covered topics including mental health, and modern dating.
Discussing whether men are still expected to make the first move, Iain says: "Old habits die hard.

"There is still a pressure to be the one that initiates the conversation, there is always that awkward thing in a restaurant when it is time to pay… It’s that caveman, hunter gatherer type thing."
Marvin then asks Iain how he would feel if his girlfriend Laura Whitmore proposed to him.
Iain replies: "It’s funny you should say that. I should immediately go, ‘That would be brilliant’.

"But again, there is an initial reaction as a man of like, ‘No’ but then I think it would be great, as long as she wanted to do that and it wasn’t her going, ‘Will you hurry this up please?’
"I think it’s whatever works for you as a couple."
Marvin, who is married to Rochelle Humes, adds: "I have definitely found the right person, but back in the day, 13 years ago, a lovely young lady asked me out on a date.

"It’s the first time it has ever happened to me and it completely threw me.
"I am quite old school in thinking it should be me chasing, me sort of pushing for a date. I didn't know how to react to it. I was like, 'Where do we go? Should I pay?'"
Roman claims he is not phased by a girl making the first move, adding: "I have never been intimidated by a girl asking me out.

"That hasn’t actually happened yet – but I have grown up with my mum and sister, very strong, confident women.
"I have learnt from their behaviours, if you look at dating apps like Bumble, that encourages women to make the first move.
"I think there is something a little bit sexy about it, it’s that confidence that you enjoy."

Ronan tells an anecdote about Storm ripping up the rulebook on their first date, saying: "Ten years ago, with my wife on my first date, she paid… She was adamant.
"She was like, ‘I ain’t letting no pop star pay for me, you ain’t coming in here thinking you’re the big man.’
"And I was ok with it, it’s about yourself and what you are comfortable with, rather than tradition."
