The I'm A Celebrity campmates have only been in the castle for a few days, but they are 'breaking the rules' already.

A number of this year's stars have been making secret signals towards the cameras when they know they are being filmed.

Celebs are banned from communicating with their families for the duration of their stay in north Wales.

But that hasn't stopped the misbehaving castle dwellers from trying to work a way around the rules and making subtle gestures that have been spotted by viewers.

In previous years, Iain Lee used a hidden code with his thumb and fingers, while Rebekah Vardy drew visible messages to husband Jamie and her kids on her hat.

Here all all the secret signals that have been exposed so far this series.

Shane Richie was one of the first campmates to be spotted making a secret signal to the cameras.

The former EastEnders actor, who is father to Jake, Shane Junior, Romani-Syke Angel Shelley, Lolita Bell, and Mackenzie Blue, is letting his five kids know he is thinking of them.

Upon learning that he was set to battle it out at Gwrych castle this year, Shane came up with a special hand signal for his children to recognise.

Shane places his hand to his face and separating his two middle fingers over his eye.

And the strange gesture has a heartwarming meaning, as Shane is letting his family know that he loves and misses them.

Shane’s wife Christie Goddard let his fans know about the signal in a sweet post on his Instagram page.

Alongside a snap of Shane making the gesture, she wrote: "Shane’s special signal to the children, telling them he loves them. #love #daddy #husband #trials #hecanbequitefunnysometimes"

Giovanna Fletcher

Giovanna Fletcher has been making secret messages to her family – but her husband might have landed her in hot water with show bosses.

The podcast queen has been holding her thumb to her nose and wiggling her fingers to send a special greeting to her kids.

Buzz, six, Buddy, four, and Max, two, have picked up on their mum's signal while watching at home.

"When she did that on her nose that's her little signal for the kids," explained husband Tom Fletcher on This Morning this week.

But Tom's McFly bandmate, Dougie Poynter, pointed out that this was against the rules.

The 2011 I'm A Celeb winner said: "Oh you get in trouble for that!"

Horrified Tom realised he might have dropped his wife in it, replying: Do you? Oh no."

Jessica Plummer

Jessica devised a special way to connect with her daughter during her stay in the castle.

During the very first night in camp, emotional Jessica was left in tears while looking at the moon, then revealed she was thinking about her young daughter.

Before heading off to Wales, the former EastEnders star told her daughter there would be a way for them to remember each other.

"I said to my daughter before we left each other that if she misses me when she's at home, she looks for the moon, I can look at the moon and we can both see it," Jessica explained to Victoria Derbyshire.

"Let's have a cwtsh," journalist Victoria suggested, "the Welsh word for cuddle," as Jessica looked up at the moon.

"I am going to miss her more than anything," Jessica previously shared, "And I will miss her the most. But I know she will be able to see me on TV and she will get me through it."

Russell Watson

Russell Watson has barely put his bags down, but his wife has given away his secret signals already.

His wife Louise has exposed the "secret signs" he can use to communicate with her at home.

During an appearance on Thursday's Lorraine from their Cheshire home, Louise was pushed to reveal what plans she had devised with her hubby.

Claiming a lot of celebs that go on the show have secret signs, Lorraine asked "Have you two worked out something where you’ll know how he’s thinking, just by…maybe he scratches his eye or something like that."

Not wanting to give much away, Louise replied: "We'll have to wait and see."

When Lorraine said it would just be special to them, Louise eventually confessed: ""He might have a couple of signs, yes"

"I think that’s a nice idea," Lorraine continued. "Because then you really know how he is."

Ruthie Henshall

Ruthie let slip her own secret signal

Before she even entered the jungle, Ruthie Henshall let slip that she had devised a secret signal to send her loved ones.

Speaking to The Mirror Online, the musical theatre actress admitted that she hadn't previously thought up a strategy to communicate with her family.

Asked whether she would be making signals, Ruthie said: "I'm not that smart! I should have done! I didn't think of it but then I'm from a business."

However, she pointed to a show ritual that she takes part in, hinting that she may use that to reveal to her family that she is thinking of home.

Ruthie explained: "To amuse ourselves in a matinée we might try and get in as many Disney titles as we can!"
