Shane Richie reportedly has his sights set on a career in drag when he finishes his stint on I'm A Celebrity.

The former EastEnders star is said to be planning to launch his very own TV show called Dads Do Drag after he leaves the castle.

It's thought the idea for the show could have been inspired by the Alfie Moon actor's time in West End hit Everybody's Talking About Jamie in which he played drag queen Loco Chanel.

According to The Sun, 56-year-old Shane has registered the name 'Dads Do Drag' as a trademark, with it marked as "development of formats for television programmes".

It's not yet known exactly what the show would entail, but it would be the first time Shane has been involved with TV production, although of course he's hosted a number of shows in the past.

Shane also had a producer credit on 2003 film Shoreditch, which he starred in opposite Joely Richardson.

Before heading to Gwrych Castle, where he could be living for the next three weeks, Shane joked that he was hoping the tough diet would help him lose weight ahead of his return to musical theatre.

He said: "If I can drop two dress sizes I'll be happy because I might be going back into Jamie The Musical in the West End, and right now there's no way I'm going to get into my dress.

"Girls you feel my pain right?! If I'm gonna be a Drag Queen I can't be a size 16!"

Shane joined the musical last year and joked at the time that he was hoping his mates would fancy him after seeing him all dolled up.

He said on This Morning: "I sat down with the designer and I said I wanna dress where my mates would come and see the show and go 'You know, after a couple of beers I would'.

"That was always in the back of my head, sadly none of them have come up on the offer."
