Explaining his decision in a chat with GQ, George said he received an unexpectedly large paycheck from the hit film Gravity.
George – who was single at the time – explained: "I've slept on their couches when I was broke. They loaned me money when I was broke. They helped me when I needed help over the years. And I've helped them over the years. We're all good friends.
"What I do have are these guys who've all, over a period of 35 years, helped me in one way or another."

After his pals came round, George sat them down and explained just how much they've all helped his career in one way or another, telling them: "How do you repay people like that? How about a million bucks?"
Cindy Crawford's husband Rande opened up about the generous gesture back in 2017, saying that he initially refused to take the cash from George.
