Think of Dolly Parton and a few things spring to mind – great songs, big boobs and towering blonde hair.
Throughout her 60-year career, Dolly, 74, has honed her love of elaborate hairstyles that seem to defy the laws of gravity.
And she's made no secret of the fact that she relies on wigs to get her trademark look.
In her new book Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, Dolly describes how as a teenager, she'd always longed for a hairpiece. And when the money started rolling in after she signed her first record deal, Dolly could have as many of them as she wanted.

Dolly Parton’s heartbreaking childhood ordeal that inspired Coat of Many Colours
She writes: "I always wore my hair all teased up. Whenever that style started, I was the first to get my hair all poofy. Then as soon as I could buy those hairpieces and wigs, I wanted them."
Explaining her very practical reason for wearing a wig rather than showing off her own hair, she continued: "For one thing they were so handy.
"Plus my hair would never do exactly what I wanted it to. So the wigs became kind of my trademark."
Indeed, Dolly's wigs are as much a part of the show as she is. She has a dedicated stylist who brushes and maintains the creations.

Dolly Parton backed Moderna Covid-19 vaccine with £814,000 to help end 'crazy pandemic'
And after years of practice, she has her routine down to such a fine art that she can be ready in her make-up, costume and wig in under 15 minutes.
Of course, her husband Carl is a huge fan of her look but has been known to knock the wigs clean off his wife's head in a moment of passion.
Before they were married, Carl he was enlisted in the National Guard and forced to leave Dolly behind in Nashville.
But she found a way to visit him at the army base in Georgia, where their romantic reunion saw the star's wig go flying.
"He squeezed, hugged and kissed me so hard that he knocked my wig off," she writes.
What's more, Dolly also reveals what her real hair looks like – and it's gorgeous.
In a black and white picture taken around 1965 after she signed to Monument Records, a young Dolly can be seen singing into the microphone with her blonde, mid-length hair swept back.
And she captioned it: "In case you're wondering, yes, that's my real hair."
