The family of a mum who went missing 27 years ago say police are treating it as a possible murder.

Davina McMillan, 36, was last seen alive at the home she shared with her four-year-old daughter Rebecca.

The former RAF servicewoman was reported missing by her brother Gary Coulson one month later but no trace of her has ever been found.

Davina’s family say she would never have walked away from her beloved daughter.

Gary, 69, claims a cold case detective has told him the missing persons inquiry had become a murder probe.

He has appealed for anyone with information to contact Cambridgeshire Constabulary.

Gary said: “I hope more people will come forward to help the investigation.

“Even after all this time it could only take one key witness to crack the case.

“Losing Davina still hurts as much now as it did then. I have a daughter who is a ringer for my sister and every time I see her it makes me think of her.

“I’m desperate for the case to be solved. I’ll never stop fighting to find out what happened.”

Davina was last seen at home in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, on November 25, 1993.

At the time it was believed she went to Germany looking for work. She was formally reported missing on December 27.

Since then there is no evidence showing she is still alive and her bank account is understood to have remained untouched.

Her family say she would never leave her mother and daughter and suspects foul play.

Gary, of Whalley, Lancs, and nephew Mel Coulson, 52, are trying to find answers.

“Davina loved her mother and worshipped her daughter,” Gary said. “We were very proud of her, she would stand up for anyone.

“She was a good person and I’m not saying that just because she was my sister.”

A Cambridgeshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: “The case is currently being reviewed and lines of inquiry identified so we cannot comment further.”

Anyone with information should dial 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
