Janette Tough required 18 stitches in a horrific arm injury after crashing her bicycle in Australia.
The 73-year-old Krankies star, who formed half of a legendary showbiz duo with husband Ian, was hospitalised after she swerved to avoid a pedestrian near her holiday home Down Under.
The star, who played Wee Jimmy Krankie in the act, split open her elbow as she came off her bike after taking drastic measures to not hit the pedestrian.
Janette, who has enjoyed more than five decades in showbusiness, was rushed to hospital by husband Ian, where she underwent emergency surgery.

She was lucky that a major nerve was missed by millimetres, though she has been left with pins and needles in her hand, according to a report in The Sun.
Speaking out about the incident, Janette said she had been shaken by the ordeal.
She said that "a man suddenly walked right in front of me" while she was out cycling in New South Wales.
Janette continued to say that she "had to swerve off the path to miss him" before hitting the tarmac, where her " arm was ripped open by the kerb."
The Krankies star went on to admit that "it was really painful."

Janette revealed that she resisted having plastic surgery to the area "because it’s on my elbow, where the skin is thinner."
After suffering a horrifying fall during pantomime in 2004, when she fell of the beanstalk, Janette said: "I told them I resisted having plastic surgery on my face during my career so I wasn’t about to start now."
Janette spent a couple nights in hospital on an antibiotic drip as doctors ensured all the grit and grass had been removed from the wound.

She has now retired from performing in pantomimes, but Janette admitted that it would have been career ending if she had "fallen on her head" or worse.
Husband Ian said: "It was a real shock for both of us.
“Fortunately Janette fell about 200 yards from our doctor’s surgery, so the staff looked after her while I got the car to take her to hospital."
