I'm A Celebrity is back and well underway, fans deliberating on their favourites and who will be crowned Castle Royalty in six weeks' time.

And among the new roster of famous faces is the Square's own Jessica Plummer, who most viewers know from her EastEnders' character Chantelle Atkins.

But even before she graced Walford, Jessica had already cut her teeth in the showbiz world as one quarter of four-piece girl band Neon Jungle.

Forming in 2013, Jessica, Shereen Cutkelvin, Amira McCarthy and Asami Zdrenka reached number 13 in the UK charts with their debut single, Trouble.

And carving out a following in the competitive world of pop, the girls managed to land a spot performing alongside Taylor Swift at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Jessica, now 28, has undergone a huge fashion transformation since Neon Jungle went their separate ways in 2015.

She looks to have left the loud, cutting edge pop star style behind her, as she embraces a more sophisticated, simpler but no less stylish vibe.

After the girls split, Jessica dived head-first into the world of acting – landing the role of Chantelle and making her Albert Square debut in 2019.

But her character came to a tragic end earlier this year, killed by evil husband Gray (Toby-Alexandr Smith).

Sunday's opening I'm A Celeb episode saw Jessica break down in tears over the heartbreak of leaving four-year-old daughter Noa Lily.

"I said to my daughter before we left each other that if she misses me when she's at home, she looks for the moon, I can look at the moon and we can both see it," Jessica explained to Victoria Derbyshire.

"Let's have a cwtsh," journalist Victoria suggested, "the Welsh word for cuddle."

Jessica knew she'd struggle to be away from her little girl before heading to Wales for the show.

"I am going to miss her more than anything," she shared, "And I will miss her the most. But I know she will be able to see me on TV and she will get me through it."

I'm A Celeb bosses moved the show to Wales earlier this year after the usual Aussie jungle proved impossible.

Jessica's joined in the castle by the likes of Sir Mo Farah, Vernon Kay and Beverley Callard to name a few.

Pushing ahead with production for the flagship reality show, ITV bosses have made sure to pull it off in a Covid-safe way.
