Piers Morgan tried to put Harry Kane on the back foot by quizzing him on THAT picture of him in an Arsenal shirt.

But the Tottenham forward put Morgan in his place with a brilliant retort, making it clear he wouldn't swap Spurs for Arsenal if his life depended on it.

Morgan is an avid Arsenal supporter and appeared in his element interviewing England international Kane on ITV's Good Morning Britain on Tuesday.

In the interview, Morgan couldn't resist bringing up the fact that Kane was once on the books of his club Arsenal, who are bitter rivals with Tottenham.

"History with football shirts is quite complicated, isn't it?" Morgan began.

"Because when you were a kid, as every Gooner knows, you were a proud Arsenal fan. What happened to you, Harry Kane?"

Kane responded: "Well, I played for Arsenal when I was younger and unfortunately for them they let me go. I have been at Tottenham since I was 11 years old and I'm reaping the rewards of that now."

Morgan then asked: "Are you itching to go back to your roots?"

To which Kane replied: "Absolutely not, no. [Tottenham are] in a good spot at the moment so I am happy."

Morgan was referring to a picture of Kane that emerged a few years ago, showing the forward at 10 years old in a Gunners' kit.

In the picture, Kane is seen celebrating Arsenal's title success of 2004 and even dons dyed red hair like Gunners Invincibles star Freddie Ljungberg.

Kane was also pictured in an Arsenal kit in 2008, and has previously spoken out about the image in order to give it some context.

"I wanted to wear a Tottenham kit but I don't think that would have gone down to well," Kane said. "I was eight-years-old. I was at Arsenal for a year and obviously I was a kid, I just wanted to play football.

"I've been at Spurs since I was 11-years-old, always loved the club. I've been here 10 years and hopefully many more years to come."
