Alison Hammond has been granted a new show with ITV
It comes days after it was revealed that Alison and Dermot O'Leary are to be the new faces of Friday's This Morning team as they replace husband and wife duo Ruth and Eamonn who have held the role for 14 years.
The couple are said to be 'furious and upset' over the move but have yet to speak out directly.
However, the night before the reveal, Eamonn, 60, spoke to fans on a Belfast Live Facebook chat where he admitted it was 'stressful' knowing that social media trolls were trying to have him sacked from his job.
He said: “People say it’s water off a duck’s back but people wake up and they know they can get you sacked… that’s the thing about live TV. It can be very stressful.”

In a shake-up of presenters, the couple will instead be given the job of hosting the main programme for six weeks in the summer holidays, when main hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby take a break.
An insider said: “ITV has been open about wanting to diversify and make the show ‘less white’ but they haven’t tried to find anything else for them.
"Ruth will remain on Loose Women and they will do school holidays. But Eamonn hasn’t been offered a role anywhere else on the channel, which is a real shame for him.”
Alison, who has been a roving reporter on the show for years, is said to have impressed producers with her chemistry with Eamonn and flair for presenting.
“They have real warmth,” a show insider said. “It’s time for a change and they are perfect.”
