Frank Lampard may not have wanted the international break to come given how well Chelsea are playing at the moment.

The Blues are unbeaten in eight games in all competitions and recorded an emphatic 4-1 victory against Sheffield United before the international break took over.

Lampard will be keen to maintain that momentum when the club take on Newcastle United next-up, and with January fast approaching the Blues boss may even be considering further changes he can make to his squad at the start of 2021.

After breaking the bank in the summer, new arrivals may be few and far between in January, but Lampard still has a few names left on his shortlist.

With that in mind here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Juventus and Inter remain interested in Chelsea full back Emerson Palmieri, according to reports.

The Italian international was signed by Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge, but he has found it hard to cement a first-team place under Frank Lampard.

The arrival of Ben Chilwell pushed him further down the pecking order and he has been entertaining the idea of returning to Serie A.

According to the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport, both Juve and Inter are still interested in the defender.

Currently on international duty, the defender took the time out to discuss his club situation at Chelsea.

“I am calm,” he said . “I have received interest, not only from Italy. Nothing concrete, but it is clear that I would like to return to Serie A.

“I do not know if it will happen in January or in five years, I cannot say. In football everything changes too quickly.”

Chelsea look set to miss out on a deal for A.C. Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports.

The Italian shot-stopper is in the final year of his current deal with Milan, and it had been claimed he would walk away on a free transfer at the end of the current season.

Now, Italian outlet Calciomercato have provided an update on his situation and indicate he is close to signing a new deal with the Rossoneri.

Chelsea would be free to speak Donnarumma as of January, but the report states the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, met with the club earlier this week, and a €7M-a-year agreement could soon be agreed.

Chelsea are readying a new bid for Declan Rice, according to reports.

The West Ham United star has been a long-term target for the Blues after spending time in the Chelsea academy during his youth.

Now, Football Insider is reporting that the Blues are once again readying an offer for the England international ahead of the January transfer window.

Their report states that Chelsea would first need to sell two first-team players to help fund the move for Rice which is expected to cost a substantial sum.

Some of the potential candidates to leave the club include Jorginho, Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso.
