Some old habits are hard to shake and for The Greatest Dancer team captain Cheryl, the urge to lick her hand has proved too much once again.
The 35-year-old former Girls Aloud singer had faced a huge backlash after licking her thumb during a live performance on X Factor before Christmas.
The Geordie singer was then taken to task for licking her hand during a second TV performance Love Made Me Do It, as she tried to breathe new life into her ailing pop career.

Her overly sexual performances before the watershed attracted a number of complaints but it doesn’t look like Cheryl has decided to ditch the habit.
Despite being trolled mercilessly about it, Cheryl looks like she couldn’t help having another cheeky lick of her fingers, while pulling off ‘tongue-pop’ in an Instagram video for the BBC show.
This time though, it seems that her ‘finger licking’ has gone under the radar as fans of the dance show stuck to the task of guessing who had taught Cheryl to ‘tongue-pop’.

While that remains a mystery, what has been cleared up is what happened at the start of Cheryl’s first live routine, with her fellow judges, as The Greatest Dancer reaches the final stages of the competition.
Viewers had slated the former X Factor judge’s performance and accused her of ‘forgetting the routine’.
This has been denied by a source close to the show, who has told MailOnline that it was just a slip, pure and simple.
Apparently in the opening seconds of the routine that Cheryl performed alongside Oti and Glee star Matthew Morrison, she was seen to be caught off balance and she was subsequently trolled on social media for putting a step out of line with the others.

In fact, a show insider has described Cheryl as a "true pro" and that she, "delivered a knock out performance," after the slip that, "didn’t shake her."
The source took aim at Cheryl’s haters, saying that it was, "a shame a few people on twitter want to try and make out she forget the dance moves," and assured fans of the show that, "of course she didn’t."
So, not only has Cheryl’s unfortunate slip been cleared up, it seems that she has perfected ‘tongue-pop’ too.
Hopefully Cheryl will have her dancing shoes firmly tied on, so that there is no repeat this weekend during the second live show.
