Amazon Prime has debuted a look at its next big series during the Super Bowl.
Hot on the heels of their thrilling Jack Ryan series, Amazon is bringing us a television remake of the 2011 film Hanna by director Joe Wright.
Hanna follows "the journey of an extraordinary young girl, Hanna, as she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is."
The original film starred Oscar-nominee Saoirse Ronan in the titular role, which is now played by newcomer Esme Creed-Miles.
The role of Hanna’s father Erik is played by Suicide Squad actor Joel Kinnaman, in a role originally played by Eric Bana.
Kinnaman’s The Killing co-star Mireille Enos takes on the role of CIA agent Marissa, who is the one hunting Hanna down.
Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett played the role of Marissa in the original film, who reveals a very personal motivation for capturing Hanna.
The new series promises huge action set-pieces and suspense, with hopefully a dash of the quirkiness from Wright’s film.
The first episode of the series, titled Forest, is available now on Amazon Prime.
