Piers Morgan and a member of Scottish Parliament exchanged savage insults in an extraordinary row on TV.
Morgan had invited Green Party MSP Ross Greer on to the ITV show to carry on a Twitter spat between the pair on Monday.
Things had kicked off after Ross tweeted that former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill was a "white supremacist mass murderer".
The 24-year-old’s comments provoked the ire of Morgan who branded Greer a “thick ginger turd” who would be “spewing his filth in German” if not for Mr Churchill’s efforts.
Greer, who became Scotland’s youngest ever MSP at the age of 21 in 2016, stuck to his guns and accepted the challenge to debate Morgan on Good Morning Britain.
In fact he doubled down on his opinion, adding: “He (Churchill) consciously chose to starve 3 million Indians or death by taking food away, he used poison gas against Russians in the 20s, he believed in eugenics & the superiority of the white race, which to him justified the slaughter of Native Americans, Aborigines etc.”
Greer appeared via video link from Scotland and began by likening Morgan to a "honey-glazed gammon", later calling him a "snowflake".
Morgan hit back at Mr Greer, saying: "There’s a younger generation – and you absolutely epitomise this – who decide to twist history to suit a narrative that people like Winston Churchill are evil people who should be condemned.
"You have not shown a single positive thought process about Winston Churchill at all.

"I know that 95 per cent of our viewers will be looking at and hearing what you’re saying with utter revulsion saying, ‘Why does this kid, who’s 24, who has somehow been an elected official in Scotland, why does he not appreciate the great of what Winston Churchill did?’
"Even if he doesn’t like some of the other stuff he did and when you say you drew no equivalence between Hitler and Churchill, we all know Hitler was a white supremacist mass murderer, so if your only characterisation in a tweet is of Churchill as a white supremacist and mass murderer, you are doing an equivalence.
"You’re saying a man who fought the Nazis is no better than a Nazi."
Ross continued by saying he would not use such a "crass" equivalence about the wartime Prime Minister, but said one of his own cabinet ministers did exactly that.
But even his own protestations made Piers angry, as he replied: "Mr Greer, you know what I find revolting? You.
"I find what you have said about Winston Churchill and your sneering, smirking performance today as you denigrate this great national icon, I find you revolting and you offensive.

"But I’m sure there will be some followers out there who will give you all your likes and say, ‘Ross told them… Ross showed the world what an evil, white supremacist, mass murderer Winston Churchill is.
"If that makes you feel good, good luck to you, because it makes me sick to my stomach."
Ross smiled as he replied: "The future is ours – goodbye."
Fans of the show have, in their vast majority, taken against Ross, calling him "smug," and "childish."
One fan said: "My first ever tweet, I find it astonishing how this attention seeking, smug individual is an elective representative.
"Churchill far from perfect, being Northern Irish I recognise that more than most, but he was perfect for the time… Imagine what our world could have been."

Another said: "@ Ross_Greer @ gmb # GMB of course you are allowed your views however deranged they may be.
"But your smirking and personal attacks made you look childish. You are nothing more than a odious little boy that needs to grow up and quick"
Ross even hit at Piers about his departure from the publishing business, which angered the presenter even more, and Susanna Reid was forced to jump in and try to help, sharing her views in response at "offensive" Ross.
