Dancing on Ice: Melody Thornton NAILS dangerous headbanger move

Melody Thornton nailed her attempt at the dangerous headbanger move.

The nerve-jangling move saw Melody being swung around by the ankles by her professional dancer partner Alexander Demetriou – with her head coming dangerously close to the ice.

It is regarded as the competition’s most dangerous stunt and has only been attempted by a small number of brave celebrities in the past.

Melody successfully nailed the move, as she gained a high score of 32.5, beating all of her other celebrity contestants in this week’s competition.

She sported brightly coloured spandex as she performed with Alexander, and completely nailed it in a move which left the fans clapping and cheering hysterically.

But as the ITV competition heats up, Melody is wanting to pull out all the stops to avoid elimination.

The former Pussycat Doll singer was spotted in training this week working on the move wearing a crash helmet for safety.

On last year’s series the headbanger was first attempted by Jake Quickenden, who went on to win the show.

While David Seaman dropped his partner Pam O’Connor while rehearsing the move back in 2006.
