The Greatest Dancer viewers disappointed as captains choose NO disabled performers

Greatest Dancer fans were not impressed when none of the captains took through two contestants with disabilities.

Andrew, who has Downs Syndrome, and Chis, who is deaf, both saw the mirror open when they auditioned, meaning they were big favourites with the audience.

But the captains clearly did not feel the same, with Cheryl and Oti Mabuse choosing to remove them from the competition and move forward with other performers.

Cheryl told Chris, as he waited for the final verdict with other contestants: "Chris, you are an inspiration, not only to me but to many for so many reasons.

"You’re fresh, you’re cool, you’re slick…however I can tell you that I’m sorry but I can’t take you any further forward in the competition."

And Oti told Andrew through an interpreter: "The audience absolutely erupted when you came onto the floor but I have to say that you are not in my final three.

"I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart because I do, really, really love you."

Both of the captains were clearly moved by the dancers and their performances, but it was not enough to get them through, and fans were not happy to see them voted out.

One fan said: "Why did no dancer or dance group with a disability not make it through to the live shows on @ GreatDancerTV ? They were as good, if not better than a lot of dancers there & they deserved their chance to show what they can do. We need to see more representation! #GreatestDancer"
