R Kelly’s estranged daughter has hinted at ‘disowning’ her dad as she hit back against his ‘lies’.
The 52-year-old singer reportedly set up a ‘cult’ of young women who he abused and kept hostage for his own sexual gratification, according to TV series Surviving R. Kelly.
The shamed I Believe I Can Fly singer is being criminally investigated after several victims bravely shared detailed accounts of his alleged physical and emotional abuse on the series.
Joann Kelly, who goes by the stage name Buku Abi, doesn’t want to be ‘associated’ with her famous father’s actions.
The 21-year-old slammed a statement from his attorney saying mum Andrea Kelly had been a "road block" to meeting his kids.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Andrea said: "My response is simply that is not the truth. I did not come here today to speak on my father and all the things going on in the news.
"It’s been a lot for me and my family. But I will say that’s not true at all. My mum would never do that."
Joann was back on GMB just days after appearing with her mother Drea.

On the accusations against her dad, she said: "It’s been extremely hard not only because of my relation with my father and all the things going on but just as a black woman in the industry. That makes it extremely hard.
"To put everything else on top of it makes it extremely difficult for me and my siblings. A lot of people don’t know how to separate his family from the things that he has going on in his life.
"My siblings and I work very hard and diligently to make sure we do this on our own."

Joann wants to be known by the stage name Buku Abi
Joann, whose single Zenn Station is out now, wants to build her music career singlehandedly.
On using a stage name, she said: "I absolutely did it on purpose. I’ve gotten suggestions about using my last name in my career and it would hep me a lot.
"I wanted people to know i have my own identity. I am my own person. My last name has nothing to do with who I am at heart.
"We don’t want people to know that we’re just R Kelly’s kids. We’re more than that."
