Emmerdale actress Chelsea Halfpenny has shared her reaction to the news her character Amy Wyatt has been recast.
Actress Natalie Jamieson will now take over the role, when Kyle’s mother heads back to the village after six years later this year.
Amid confusion over the decision to recast the role, Chelsea has revealed why she won’t be returning to the role.
She also shared her support for the actress taking over, amid backlash from viewers.

In response to a tweet from a viewer encouraging fans to give Natalie a chance, Chelsea wrote: “Go on girl! Smash it.”
After seeing her approval, Natalie responded thanking her for the support ahead of her debut.
She replied: “Thank you lovely lass!! I can’t wait to get started. I’m sure I’m going to have a smashing time in the dales.”

It comes after Chelsea told Digital Spy she would not be returning, and that this decision was down to her.
She said, following her recent exit from BBC drama Casualty: “I’m definitely not [returning].
“There would be no point in leaving one long-running show to go back to the one you were in before.
Chelsea did not want to reprise the role
"There are other things in my career that I’d like to do. For now, it’s a ‘no’.”
It’s not yet been revealed why Amy is returning, but fans are speculating whether it’s linked to Kyle’s dad Cain Dingle going off the rails.
Amy’s mother Kerry Wyatt recently began caring for Kyle, fearing he wasn’t in safe hands after Cain hit self destruct over the death of Joe Tate.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm and again at 8pm on Thursdays on ITV.
