EastEnders’ Stuart Highway to be MURDERED in unlikely twist?

Stuart Highway may meet a grisly end at the hand of a very unexpected character.

The character has done some terrible things over the past few months – he was outed as the man who behaved abusively to Tina Carter, framed Mick Carter for his attempted murder after months of mental torture, and even tried it on with Linda Carter.

But his lies were finally revealed when Linda recorded him speaking to her, admitting he had shot himself, so Mick was exonerated and released from prison.

Stuart found himself very friendless but was taken in by Dot Cotton, though this friendship was quickly strained after he was accused of spraying a swastika on Dot’s door to target her Jewish friend Dr Legg.

He proved his innocence, but now a fan theory has emerged that perhaps the good Christian soap veteran may be theone to bring about his demise.

Fans will remember her own son, Nick, was killed by Ms Cotton when she let him die from a heroin overdose, after praying about what his fate should be.

She was given 14 months in prison for manslaughter, serving only four – so could she do something similarly tricky with Stuart?

The actor playing Stuart, Ricky Champ, told Metro: "There are similarities to Dot’s son Nick and that gets brought up. Stuart’s instantly pneumonic for Dot about Nick – he reminds Dot of her son and the mistakes that she has made and won’t make again.

"Maybe an ulterior motive was in Stuart’s mind at the beginning but I think it quickly becomes about something else.

"I’ve always played Stuart as a very deft and a very manipulative liar – he actually finds it much more difficult to tell the truth. So that was interesting to play – I tried to do it in a way that makes Stuart look guilty while pleading an innocent case. It comes more natural to him to lie."

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC1.
