Amy Barlow’s teen pregnancy storyline on Coronation Street has left viewers puzzled, after a twist that aired during Wednesday’s double episode.
Her parents Steve McDonald and Tracy Barlow have been trying to get her to reveal the identity of the boy who got her pregnant.
They now believe Amy’s cousin Simon Barlow is the father of her unborn baby, after Steve spotted them hugging, while Tracy simply thinks he’s “weird”.
Amy was seen protesting that Simon was not the dad, as she continued to keep the true identity of the mystery culprit a secret.

- Who’s the father of Amy Barlow’s baby in Coronation Street? Identity ‘revealed’
While the scenes left some fans questioning if Simon could really be the dad, it was something that Steve and Tracy told Amy that have left them a little confused.
Tracy told Amy she could not carry her cousin’s child as it would be “weird”, while Steve was more concerned the baby would come out with “three legs and two heads”.
But fans were quick to point out Amy and Simon were not cousins by blood, and were not biologically related, something both Tracy and Steve should already know.
Simon Barlow has been accused of being the father
Tracy is the sister of Simon’s dad Peter Barlow, but not by blood as their dad, Ken Barlow, is not her biological father.
Ken is Tracy’s stepfather, making Peter her stepbrother and therefore, though cousins, Amy and Simon are not genetically related.
So say the baby was Simon’s child, it’s not likely to come out with “three legs and two heads” as Steve claimed.
Tyler Jefferies is reportedly the father of her baby
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that it’s bully Tyler Jefferies who got Amy pregnant, with him tipped to return to the Street soon.
It’s claimed he will cause trouble for Amy once he finds out she’s carrying his child, even threatening her to have an abortion, but what will she do?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30 and 8:30pm on ITV.
