DIY SOS viewers were left in tears tonight as Simon Dobbin was finally given his privacy and dignity back.
The dad-of-three was left with permanent brain damage and paralysis, leaving him trapped in his body, after being attacked at a football match on March 21, 2015.
After watching his beloved Cambridge United play Southend, he became the innocent victim of a planned brutal attack that lasted 90 seconds.
The DIY SOS team, along with friends, family and volunteers, transformed the family home to give Simon his own room and improve his living conditions.
The joy was clear to see on his face when he was finally brought home from hospital two months after the build finished.
