Coronation Street viewers rejoiced tonight as Sally Metcalfe was finally freed from prison.
But it was nearly too late as evil Marcia almost murdered Sally in her prison cell with a shank.
As Marcia shoved terrified Sally up against a wall, she said: "Seven days of segregation, plus loss of privileges. I missed the end of Long Lost Family because of you."
Just as the bully was about to plunge the knife into Sally, she was dramatically knocked out from behind.
Sally was saved by her prison pal Jodie, who whacked Marcia over the head with what appeared to be a snooker ball in a sock.

Some Corrie viewers were quick to point out that it was madness to put Marcia back in the same cell with Sally.
One viewer said: "Idk how prison cells work but would they really put the attacker back in the same cell with the one they attacked"
Another added: "So they put violent offenders, who have been isolated, back in the cell with the person they assaulted? Really?"
A third said: "Watching #Corrie . Are you kidding me @itvcorrie . Sally has been beaten up by her cell mate, witnessed by a Prison Officer. Marcia went to Seg and is now back on the wing. This in my experience would not happen! Please portray reality of #prison if you want to do prison stories!"

"Hi love," said beaming Sally as she reunited with her family, but told Gina to "get lost".
Sally said she didn’t want a fuss and was still not ready to believe she was finally free.
She said: "I’m not free Sophie, this appeal is hanging over me."
After receiving some advice from Peter Barlow about leaving the big house, emotional Sally walked home alone.
Tim needs to work on his spelling
Tim showed her his badly spelt "weelcome home" banner, but realised something was wrong with his wife.
Sally said: "I nearly didn’t make it. Two seconds later, two inches closer and I would have been dead. Marcia tried to knife me."
Concerned Tim said she was just in shock and was safe at home now.
Breaking down in his arms, Sally said: "I’m not going to feel safe ever again."
