First Dates’ Fred Sirieix hoping to become godfather to Gordon Ramsay’s unborn baby

First Dates host Fred Sirieix has admitted that he is hoping to become godfather to Gordon Ramsay’s unborn child.

Gordon ‘s wife Tana, 44, is pregnant with the couple’s fifth child two years after suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage.

Appearing on Lorraine today, Fred was asked whether he was set to become the godfather.

"Who knows?" He replied wryly. "Who knows with Gordon!"

Asked whether that would be a role that he would enjoy, Fred replied: "That would be lovely! I love children and I think it would be fantastic for Gordon."

The celebrity chef, 52, was heard saying: "And guess what? Happy new year because…"

Gordon posted the video online with the caption: "Exciting news ! Happy new year from all the Ramsays."

The couple are already parents to Megan, 21, Matilda, 17, and fraternal twins Jack and Holly, 19.

The happy news comes just 11 days after the pair celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary.

It’s also two years since they suffered a devastating miscarriage in June 2016.

The chef announced the previous baby news on The Late Late Show with James Corden, revealing: "We have three girls and a boy… and one more on the way!"

However, tragedy struck later as the couple lost the baby when Tana suffered a miscarriage when five months pregnant.

Gordon later told the  Daily Mail ‘s Weekend magazine: "You realise how lucky you are and you reflect on what you have…

"How fortunate you are with your remaining children and you remind yourself of what you’ve got. It’s made the family unit even tighter."
