Coronation Street fans were in shock tonight when a character returned from the dead.
Duncan Radfield’s wife May, who was believed to have tragically died, was spotted at the hospital after his horrific accident.
Sophie Webster tricked May and drove her to the Street, but she managed to escape before Tim Metcalfe could blackmail Duncan into confessing.
Luckily, Gina Seddon tracked down May and took her to Duncan’s bedside, where she revealed the truth about their life insurance scam.
May was horrified to discover that her husband had got innocent Sally imprisoned and forced him to confess all to the police.

She was delighted to discover Duncan was still alive after hearing him being knocked down by a van on the phone.
But Duncan was not pleased to see her as he realised they could be rumbled by the police.
May said: “We’ve both lied so much. It was only supposed to be about us and now we’ve ruined all these other lives.”

Scheming Duncan revealed they had pretended May was dead to get the money from her life insurance policy to pay their daughter Olivia’s medical bills.
Duncan said: “We had to for the life insurance. How else were we going to pay the medical bills? She was poorly after your stroke.”
Heartbroken May said she was desperate to see her daughter and it was wrong that Olivia thought she was dead.
Is Sally coming home?
She urged Duncan to do the right thing – and the police later revealed he had made a full confession.
Tim and Sophie were over the moon when the detective said Duncan had taken full responsibility for stealing the council funds.
With innocent Sally set for prison release, Tim said: “She’s coming home Soph, your mum is coming home."
They didn’t realise that Gina, who had heard everything, was the person who got May to make Duncan confess.
