It has been 20 years since The Black Eyed Peas first burst onto the music scene and to celebrate they agreed to be interviewed by acting legend Joanna Lumley.
The group – formed of will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo (real names William James Adams Jr, 43, Allan Pineda Linda, 44, and Jamie Gomez, 43) – were the subjects of an ITV special on Saturday night.
And those tuning in to see the lads reflect on their time in the charts were baffled to see honey voiced icon Joanna, 72, doing the questioning.
Many took to Twitter to express confusion and delight about the star pairing as they watched the group and the Absolutely Fabulous star chat for the one hour special.

“Strange combo.. Joanna Lumley hosts 20 years of the black eyed peas.. what is this?!” asked another.
While a further fan tweeted: “Joanna Lumley and the Black Eyed Peas being BFFs genuinely blows my mind.”
Indeed, some viewers were wondering if what they were watching was real – with one tweeting: “Joanna Lumley and the Black Eyed Peas…did someone slip a hallucinogenic into my mulled wine?”

And another tweeted: "’Twenty Years of Black Eyed Peas…… with Joanna Lumley’ I have only had a few glasses of prosecco but I am struggling to not find this VERY BIZARRE".
However band overlord will.i.am himself was overjoyed by the encounter – and declared he now wants to create a song with the Ab Fab star.
