- Appearing on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Miley Cyrus sang “Santa Baby,” but changed the lyrics so as to deliver a feminist message.
- Cyrus made sure to inform Santa that a “girl’s best friend is equal pay,” whilst requesting he didn’t send her any d*ck pics.
- Also appearing in the video, Fallon and Mark Ronson attempted to give Cyrus multiple gifts, but all were ridiculed or rebuffed. Happy feminist Christmas, y’all!
Miley Cyrus gave “Santa Baby” a much-needed feminist update during her appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Instead of asking Santa Claus for a plethora of expensive gifts, the “Wrecking Ball” singer made a point of letting everyone know that she can buy her own things, thank you very much.
Prior to starting the song, Cyrus tried to clarify the meaning of its lyrics with Fallon by asking, “Am I saying that I’m gonna hook up with Santa if he buys me all this stuff?” When the talk show host conceded that Cyrus could update the words if she wanted, the singer went all-out, delivering completely different lyrics for the entire song.

Cyrus iterated, “Santa baby, I’ve got a baller car of my own, no loan. I bought it all by myself, Santa baby, with zero help from Elf on the Shelf.” And later on, she referenced the importance of the feminist movement singing, “Listen, Santa, to what I say: A girl’s best friend is equal pay. So, stop interrupting me when I talk, and don’t text me pictures of your…”
And as for sexual harassment, Cyrus took that down too singing, “Santa baby, I’d love to know my butt won’t get grabbed at work, by some ignorant jerk.” Another Christmas song has officially been fixed!
