Kate Oates has revealed some of the shocking details of the 2019 storylines which will affect the residents of Walford.
In 2018 it’s been pretty busy – Alfie Moon is back, Hayley Slater’s had his baby, Sharon Mitchell has been doing the dirty with a far younger man, Keanu Taylor, and who can forget, the tragic death of Shakil Kazemi, leading to the departure of Bonnie Langford’s Carmel.
And of course, Mick Carter has just been released from jail after a horrendous ordeal where his mate Stuart Highway framed him for a crime he didn’t commit, and his wife Linda was forced to debase herself to try and get the truth from the villain.
So what is in store for 2019?

Showrunner Kate has revealed the truth about this, saying to Digital Spy : "It’s going to be a big year for the Slaters. Jean’s going to have a bit of a new challenge coming her way, but she may find that it’s the best thing that ever happened to her.
"There’s some fun stuff to challenge her there, along with Lacey [Turner, aka Stacey Slater.]"
But it won’t just be the Slaters who get some drama, as the Taylors will also have to deal with some new arrivals – the somewhat villainous Mitch Baker (though he’s not your classic villain, really."
Kate continued: "We’re bringing Mitch back. A secret that he’s bringing with him – a little surprise – will be a little bomb to go off in the Taylor family.
