New faces join EastEnders – along with a fresh wave of chaos for Albert Square

EastEnders is set for more mayhem with the arrival of three new feisty female characters and the return of another.

Danielle Harold, 26, is coming back as bolshie Lola Pearce after three years away.

British Bollywood star Priya Davdra, 31, and ex-Hollyoaks actress Rukku Nahar, 22, will join as troublesome sisters Iqra and Habiba Ahmed.

Bosses are also in the process of casting someone to play explosive Chantelle Baker, the eldest daughter of Karen Taylor.

Danielle, who was a regular as Billy Mitchell’s granddaughter Lola for four years, said: “I’m so excited to be returning.”

Previously, Lola had a romance with Jay Brown after having a baby girl with his best mate Ben Mitchell.

Danielle will return to the set early next year to film Lola’s dramatic comeback with her daughter Lexi, who is now six.

The BBC soap’s new boss Kate Oates said: “I always admired Lola’s feisty, fiery spirit and viewers will have a lot to look forward to with her return. How will Jay respond seeing the love of his life walk back into Walford?”

Iqra and her younger sister Habiba are the granddaughters of Mariam and Arshad Ahmed, and they will soon be spinning some massive lies about why they are in Walford.

Kate said: “The sisters are certainly going to be a force to be reckoned with and will throw number 41 into chaos as they become a nightmare for Mariam and Arshad.

“Residents of Walford beware, take on one of the sisters and you take on the pair.”

Speaking about new girl Chantelle, Kate said she can’t wait to add to the rowdy clan, adding: “She certainly has that feisty Taylor streak.

“Things are set to get a whole lot louder in 2019.”

It will have a lot to live up to after a volcanic Christmas with the prospect of heartache and possibly murder.

Fans think Alfie Moon, set for a huge row with wife Kat, could be the victim.

Outgoing boss John Yorke said: “Alfie is doing everything he can to keep his secret, and it’s only going to take one slip-up before something sinister and dark occurs… Mel Owen finds herself scorned by Ray Kelly and she is determined to take revenge like no other we’ve seen before.

“Pull all those things together, it’s clear someone at the end of our Christmas period is going to have a lot of blood on their hands.”
