Strictly fans slam Ashley as she makes ‘thunderous’ face after being saved by judges

Strictly Come Dancing fans slammed Ashley Roberts this evening as they noticed her "thunderous" expression after she was saved by the judges this evening.

Ashley and Pasha Kovalev landed in the bottom two for the third week in a row tonight on Strictly.

The pair were saved after they went up against Lauren Steadman and AJ Pritchard in the dance-off tonight.

But when the finalists were announced this evening, Ashley looked less than happy and couldn’t muster a smile.

Fans took to Twitter to comment on the awkward moment.

One tweeted: "Ashley’s face though … #Strictly."

While another commented: "Ashley’s face at the end says exactly why people aren’t voting for her. That look could have killed the others #strictly #SCD."

A third remarked: "Ashley’s face after realising the final is on public vote only… Everyone else like… #Strictly."

Despite bagging a perfect score for her American Smooth, the public failed to vote her through to the final.

The ex-Pussycat Dolls singer , 37, also wowed the judges with her powerful Paso Doble, which she scored 36 for.

If she does make it through to next week, this will no doubt dent her confidence even more than ever as the backlash appears to continue over her dance background.

Ashley won I’m A Celebrity back in 2012 after charming British viewers with her positive and go-getter attitude.

However Ashley is reportedly feeling very distressed over the Strictly backlash because it had been the BBC who had approached her about taking part on the show, knowing about her professional dance history.

A source told the Mail On Sunday : "Ashley feels she is not wanted on the show and it is terribly sad for her.

"She is particularly upset because she wasn’t the one who went to the BBC, begging to be signed up for Strictly.

"They approached her, knowing full well what she had done in the past. This has been so sad for Ashley. Imagine going to work when people don’t want you there."

Many viewers feel that Ashley has an unfair advantage over novices such as Joe Sugg and Lauren Steadman because of her dance past.

Ashley trained in modern dance, including ballet, tap, modern and lyrical, since she was a child and working professionally as a dancer before joining the pop group.

When she was first announced as a contestant, Ashley insisted learning ballroom and Latin would be a huge challenge for her: "The ballroom and Latin world is so different in how they carry their bodies, how they transfer their weight, whereas with hip hop and jazz you almost get to come up with the creative movement yourself.
