X Factor champ Dalton Harris has claimed his first UK No1 single following reports that he’d been kicked out of the UK.
The Jamaican singer’s cover of The Power Of Love has gone in at the top spot in the Official Vodafone big Top 40 just seven days after winning the ITV talent show.
His duet with previous winner James Arthur – a cover of the 1984 Frankie Goes to Hollywood hit – is sitting pretty at the top of the charts, while last week’s No1 Sweet But Psycho by Ava Max has moved down three places to No4.
Dalton surprised 15,000 Capital listeners at this weekend’s Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Coca-Cola alongside James Arthur, performing their number one hit at London’s The O2.

Dalton is No1
Also making a huge splash on the Official Vodafone Big Top 40 is Mark Ronson’s brand new single Nothing Breaks Like A Heart featuring Miley Cyrus which enters the chart at number three.
It comes after reports that Dalton could soon be forced to leave the UK.
The singer is set to fly back to his hometown of Jamaica because his visa only allowed him to stay for the duration of the ITV competition.
The complications sparked fears 24-year-old Dalton wouldn’t be able to perform on the upcoming tour or start recording his first album.
However, show bosses were working to come up with a solution that would let him stay.

He needs to get a new visa
Dalton said: “I need to get a new visa. I will have to leave the UK for a bit as you’re not allowed to just stay for ever."
"Hopefully my visa will be sorted out quickly,” he told The Sun.
The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 is the UK’s biggest chart show with 2.2m listeners every week and is the only chart that reflects UK consumption in real time.
