Niall Aslam has opened up about his time on Love Island, hiding his Asperger’s from friends and his thoughts on Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer’s split.
The Love Island star, who has Asperger’s, left the villa after just nine days and spoke on Loose Women for the first time about the moment he found it too "overwhelming".
Asked by the panel how he had appeared on the show, Niall revealed: "Originally I was contacted for the show from Instagram. You go through these interviews and you don’t think you’re going through."
Niall insisted that he hadn’t been nervous ahead of appearing on the show: "I just thought ‘You live once, go for it – it looks like a laugh on TV’."

He said that he "hadn’t taken into consideration" how his Asperger’s would affect him.
"For the first few days it was great," he said. "And then it got really overwhelming me… sometimes I need to have some time away."

He described the environment as "so intense".
Opening up at being diagnosed at eight years old, he admitted that he hadn’t been open about his condition with his friends because he hadn’t wanted to be labelled.

He wished them the best
"That Insta post was the first time that [my friends] found out," he told the shocked panel.
Revealing that he had "struggled" in school with managing his Aspergers, he admitted that he’d kick off all the time to pretend he was naughty rather than his friends find out he was getting help for his condition.
Asked on how he felt about Jack and Dani’s shock split, he said: "Good for them. I mean, I thought they were a great couple but I just hope they’re both happy, I just wish them the best.
Probed by Andrea McLean on whether he thought it had been "true love", he said: "In my nine days, yeah – I thought they had a real connection."
