Anne Hegerty has responded to criticism after she was ruled out of a string of trials during her time on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The Chase star, who has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, admitted she was surprised at how often ITV bosses banned her for taking part in challenges.
During her time on the show, many viewers took to social media to question why the 60-year-old was missing out on so many trials, with some accusing her of being "lazy" and blaming her larger frame.
However, Anne told Metro Online that her weight or physical health had nothing to do with her being ruled out of taking part.

She explained: "I was quite freaked out by the first bushtucker trial and only getting two stars. I could have got four, but either I couldn’t line up the numbers on the padlocks or I wasn’t pushing the spring down properly.
"I don’t want to go into more details as I’d be giving away production secrets, but the ‘exemption on medical grounds’ thing thereafter was really more on the basis of how I’d reacted psychologically to that one, rather than because I’m a fat lump or anything."
Following Anne’s departure from the jungle on Day 18, co-host Declan Donnelly couldn’t resist poking fun at her exclusion from tasks.

Referring to Anne being absent from camp, Dec joked: "Who’s going to watch them light the fire? Who’s going to watch them cook the dinner?
"And what about us two. We’ve got nobody to rule out on medical grounds anymore."
As co-host Holly Willoughby burst into laughter, Dec quipped: "I might nip to the hotel to rule her out of something for old time sake."
