Anne Hegerty has opened up about her time in the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here jungle camp, saying that because only a small part of the celebrities’ day can every be shown viewers will never understand how kind and thoughtful Nick Knowles has been.
She told Metro: "I don’t think they’ve seen how protective he gets with the other campmates, and how he’ll have blazing rows in the Bush Telegraph if he thinks the rest of us are being put at risk in any way.’
She goes on to say that she’s enjoying her time in the plush Versace hotel with the other ejected celebs especially now that Nick has left the camp and that she’s hopeful that everyone from the series will stay in touch after the show wraps.

She’s clearly having fun socialising with the other celebs that have left the camp; Rita Simons, Malique Thompson-Dwyer, Sair Khan and Noel Edmonds but she has particular praise for Nick:
I think there’s a lot of things Nick has been doing that have just not been shown.
"People seem to know that candlewax was spilled on John’s gilet, but when I say, “Were you impressed by Nick’s scheme for removing the wax when the producers said they wouldn’t provide a new gilet?” they all go, “What scheme?”

Nick himself said he was ‘sad to leave’ the jungle. The DIY SOS presenter, 56, became the sixth campmate to leave the jungle yesterday.
Appearing via video link on This Morning, Nick admitted that he hadn’t watched much of the show so hadn’t really known what to expect.
Nick and Anne became very close during their time on the show
He said it was “the bits that you don’t see very much in the programme are actually the things that wear you out.
“You have to go to the bottom of a very steep hill to get the wood for the fire which you have to do about eight or ten times a day and then bringing the bags of water – you’re pulling about 30 kilos, those bags when they’re full.”
Nick says he lost 14 kilos during his 19 days in camp.
