I’m A Celebrity: Anne Hegerty admits biggest problems were her ‘giant knockers’

Anne Hegerty said one of the biggest problems in the I’m A Celebrity jungle were her “giant knockers”.

The Chase star, 60, found taking her bra on and off very difficult in front of the cameras and it caused her discomfort.

She said: “For some people it was boredom, for Nick it was boredom, and for some people it was really badly missing people. Those were not issue for me, the issues were the massive physical discomfort.

“I’m not really designed for the outdoor life and I’m not really an outdoorsy person. Just things like trying to take my bra off and put it on – I mean I have really enormous knockers.

“I don’t even know what size I am because I buy the biggest bra I can to get the biggest cup size and then I take it in, my several inches, so all my bras are customised, so they have lots of knots in them.”

Anne also said she hated wearing wet clothes and so rarely changed her socks.

But Nick Knowles constructed some rope in order to create something to dry their clothes on in the future.

Anne is also going through all her social media profiles today and has made lots of new fans.

Asked if she has any male admirers amongst them, single Anne said: “I have no idea, I’m still trying to catch up. I’ve got more than 99 friend requests on Facebook, 77 notifications, I certainly haven’t gone through all the messages, or text message and I certainly haven’t been anywhere near Twitter or email.”

Anne Hegerty says the I’m A Celebrity experience is likely to be “life changing” for her – after she lost a stone in weight and went out of her comfort zone to become more sociable.

The Chase star, 60, hopes the diet of rice and beans and forced exercise climbing the paths and stairs around camp may kickstart a slightly better exercise regime than she previously had spending most days swotting up on her knowledge on a laptop.

She said: “I’ve lost about a stone. I’ll probably put it all back on again but people have been saying to me recently, ‘You’re going up the steps faster’. There’s so many steps in that camp, and people have been saying, ‘You’re going up the steps quicker than you were’.

“I wish I hadn’t left my gym kit back in Elstree, I wish I bought with me. But I’m on the third floor, so I might start using the stairs instead of going up the lift.

“I think it may have been a life changing experience for me. I expected that I would need a lot of alone time and down time and getting away from them but I found I didn’t need that. Dealing with human beings when that is what there is to do and there isn’t any other distractions is ok. And it is just incredible that everyone was so lovely so that was lovely.

"I’ve learnt I can get along with people better than it thought I could, or more probably that it was just an exceptionally nice year, full of lovely people.

"The Governess will continue to be utterly brutal, but Anne Hegerty is a bit of a wimp and a bottler."

Initially feeling emotional Anne, who is Aspergers’ syndrome, tried to quit the jungle after less than 24 hours but was persuaded to stay by bosses and her campmates.

Explaining just how bad things got, she said: “Autistic people have a thing called executive dysfunction, which is where you have to think your way through things, you have to get all the steps clear in your head and it can take ages, I can be very slow at doing things. I tell people I know you don’t think this but believe it or not I am a slow thinker I need time to process what’s going on.

"I was standing there thinking, ‘I don’t even know where to begin’. I had a big backpack and a green backpack and a bedroll. It took me two days to even work out I had a sleeping bag. I was just crawling in under the ground sheet mattress and thinking, ‘I feel very cold’. Really I couldn’t even work that out.

“Basically the turning point boils down to them being lovely, lovely campmates. They could see I was distressed and everyone was coming over and giving me a hug they said, ‘Don’t worry about anything Anne we will make the dinner, you don’t need to do anything’.

“I think I have also worked out that there are loads of things I cant do I assumed I would magically be able to do like cope with spiders, I can’t do that, f*** spiders.”

I’m A Celebrity airs tonight on ITV at 9pm
