Doctor Who may be gearing up for its epic series finale this weekend, but we now have some more details on their festive special.
This year, Doctor Who will skip a Christmas special in favour of one on New Year’s Day.
The episode will see The Doctor (Jodie Whittaker), Graham (Bradley Walsh), Ryan (Tosin Cole) and Yaz (Mandip Gill) return to Earth but face an entirely new threat of alien origin.
We do not currently have an episode title for the special but we will likely know this after the series finale.
Now we know who will be joining the TARDIS crew for the new episode, despite knowing little about who they are.
Call the Midwife star Charlotte Ritchie joins the cast as guest character Lin, while Indian Summers actor Nikesh Patel will play Mitch.
Completing the trio is Save Me actor Daniel Adegboyega as Aaron.
Will the three just be civilians or will there be more to their roles?
The last episode will surely have divided fans, but it did include an emotional resolution to a character arc for companions Graham and Ryan.
The upcoming finale The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos promises epic scenes and also features King Robert Baratheon of Game of Thrones, guest star Mark Addy.
Will the TARDIS crew ever be the same after the episode’s events?
