But he added: "Max was featured very heavily last year – obviously it’s not as focused on Max Branning this year, which is good for me."
Coleen asked whether that meant that he would be having a quieter Christmas and he confirmed that it did.
Jake is looking forward to spending time with his family
"I’m taking a few months off EastEnders – I had my last day on Friday so I’m taking three months off," he said. "Go back in March…"
He continued: "I’ve been there 12 years and my approach has always been… two years ago I had a year off. I love being there, I love the job, but it is very demanding. It’s long hours – I’ve got a family, two kids at home and a beautiful wife that I probably don’t see enough of so, yeah.
