The Walking Dead season nine has been full of dramatic moments, not least the departure of series lead Andrew Lincoln as iconic character Rick Grimes.
Now the zombie drama is on its midseason break after its first eight episodes and fans are eager to know when there will be new installments of the show.
Series star Norman Reedus, who plays fan favourite Daryl Dixon, has told Deadline that the next few episodes will be "f***ing epic, you know, and they’re just crushing and they’re severe, all of them."
The last batch of episodes also saw the dramatic departure of series star Laura Cohan as Maggie, but it is unknown if she will reprise the role in a future season.
Lincoln, meanwhile, will reprise his role as Rick Grimes in a series of The Walking Dead television movies.
With such strong words, fans will barely able to contain themselves.
So when can we expect the show to return?

We don’t have a specific return date yet, but we do know that the The Walking Dead season 9 will return in February 2019.
So a bit of a large midseason break, but we are sure it will be worth the wait if Reedus’ words are anything to go by.
It is unknown if any other stars of the series will appear in these Grimes-centric movies, but rest assured we will update you when we know more.
The Walking Dead returns on AMC in February 2019, showing on NOW TV in the UK.
