How to apply for X Factor 2019 – applications for next year now open

X Factor 2018 may have only just finished, but the ITV show is already looking to find next year’s batch of talented singers.

Whether Robbie Williams, Ayda Field, Louis Tomlinson and Simon Cowell will be returning to the ITV competition still remains to be seen but, as ever, the show are on the look out for undiscovered talent.

Hopefuls need to be aged 16 or over and can either be a soloist or part of a group.

Singers will be able to audition either in person or via a video.

To apply, hopefuls will need to head over to the ITV website and fill out an application form.

The X Factor has been renewed by ITV for another two years despite poor ratings.

The 2018 series has been heavily criticised by viewers for its numerous technical issues , frantic last-minute changes and claims that new judges Robbie Williams and Ayda Field are "ruining the show" .

But media mogul Simon insists that the show is appealing more to younger audiences.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "We’ve just been offered an extension on both shows because of the 16 to 34-year-old audience.

"We could probably do three years or five years. It makes a lot of money."
