Emotions were running high in tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing quarter-final, and that was just with the judges.
Bruno Tonioli was moved to tears over a performance by hot favourite Stacey Dooley.
For Musicals night the documentary maker danced the American Smooth to I Dreamed A Dreamed from Les Miserables with professional partner Kevin Clifton
As the pair took to the floor an animated Bruno was seen standing up to get a better look at their routine.
But the heartwrenching number appeared to get too much for the judge as he was then seen wiping away tears from his eyes.
Stacey and Kevin won high praise for their American Smooth
Bruno was particularly moved by the dance
Host Tess Daly immediately brought up Bruno’s surprising reaction: "I’ve never seen him cry before," she told the audience.
Bruno looked very emotional while head judge Shirley was also seen dabbing her eyes.
Shirley said: "There are some time in our life when we do something so magical that we capture it in our heart and stay there forever, and that was that. It was seamless.
He gave them very high praise
Bruno then added: "Look what you’ve done to me, I’m a mess. That was so special, I really forgot who I was, where I was. I was there with you. That really was so special."
Craig then ruined the incredible reviews as he told Stacey the routine wasn’t ‘technically perfect.’
But said he could over see that, describing the dance as ‘real’ and ‘honest.’
The judges awarded Stacey 38 marks for the routine
Stacey and Kevin then received an overall score of 38 marks out of 40.
The couple are one of six remaining pairs battling it out in a place in next week’s semi-final.
Faye Tozer received the highest score of the night with a perfect ’40’ for her Charleston to The Sound of Music’s The Lonely Goatherd.
