Alan Carr goes teetotal to support husband who hit bottle while star was on tour

Chatty Man Alan Carr has gone tee total after tying the knot.

The comic, famed for pouring guests drinks on his Channel 4 show, quit boozing in June to support his husband, Paul Drayton.

Alan, who has also given up sugar and fatty foods, quipped on stage: “He’s been sober for 161 days. I haven’t had a drink during this time either… or a smile.”

In 2016 the star, 42, spoke about Paul’s booze battle, saying: “He had a few issues with alcohol, a lot of the time because I was away so much. I neglected my personal life.”

And he admitted: “I used to love going to M&S at the station and getting a G&T or a Pina Colada for the journey.”
